~~BLACK ESSENCE~~
I stepped to the mirror, I needed to see
The reflection of the image that represents me
I needed to know and understand
Am I the black queen
For my loving man
(mirror)
I am the mirror on the wall, what is the purpose of this call
~ ~ ~
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Am I the blackest woman of all
With nappy hair and almond eyes
A radiant smile, a mind thats wise
Can you tell me now by far,
Am I the blackest woman of all?
(mirror)
I hear your words; yes indeed, please my dear will you precede
~ ~ ~
My body is sleek and leopard black,
a sexy physic with a good strong back
I am the woman, I am the one,
I can birth kings for a mother's son
My love is strong and very steadfast,
I have a love that is humble and one that will last.
I love my man till the end of time,
I'll be the breath for him and he can be mine
And should he fall and can't snap back,
I'd help him up and take the slack.
Can you tell me now by far,
Am I the blackest woman of all?
(mirror)
I feel your spirit and I can see you yet have more to reveal to me
~ ~ ~
I have been humiliated and often displaced,
Others have looked at me with a look of disgrace,
But no matter what my trials and tribulations may be
I remain a proud black woman from a unique nationality
Now that I have made my call, am I the blackest woman by far?
(Mirror)
I am the mirror on the wall,
Yes my dear you're the blackest woman by far
Your inner soul glows
Heavenly accent,
You're the one of a kind woman our God did send
And to the world I acclaim,
Behold, I give you the black man's Queen
